San Carlos is home to an enormous variety of fish all year around. In the spring and summer you’ll catch marlin, sailfish, and find arguably some of the best fishing for dorado (mahi-mahi) anywhere in the world. Depending on the year, yellowfin tuna fishing ranges from spotty to good. In fall and winter you can bottom fish for red snapper, grouper, mexican salmon, and calico bass or troll for yellowtail or cabrilla.

If you really want to test your fishing skills (and luck!) you can always enter one of the 4 international billfish tournaments which are hosted in San Carlos each summer.
